GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The No. 20-ranked Indiana Tech women's basketball team used a strong second half performance to defeat Cornerstone, 86-69, on Saturday afternoon in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) play at Mol Arena.
Keanna Gary led the way with her 15
th double-double of the season and fifth straight, tying her season-high in points with 28, which also came against Cornerstone, and grabbing 17 rebounds. 26 of her points came in the second half.
Haley Cook added 20 points, five rebounds and four assists while
Taylor Seiss had 19 points on 7-10 shooting, including 5-6 from the three-point line, and corralled six rebounds.
The Golden Eagles would get out to a good start in the first quarter, outshooting the Warriors 61.1% to 40%, and leading by as much as six in the opening period, but Tech would counter with a 10-6 run to end the quarter and trailing 23-21.
A three-pointer from Cook would give the visitors their first lead of the game with 9:12 to go in the second quarter, but Cornerstone would continue to hold the advantage through the period, leading 37-32 with just under two minutes to go until the half, but a triple from
Baylee Rinehart and a good defensive stand on their next possession would cut the deficit to two points after 20 minutes.

Jessie Biggs would then feed Gary to open up the second half as the junior scored on three straight possessions to give the Warriors 41-39 lead, powering the Orange and Black to 31 points in the third while holding the hosts to just 11 points, thanks to in part to a 22-2 spurt.
Leading 66-48 heading into the final quarter, the Warriors would continue to push their advantage, leading by as much as 23 with 3:49 to go and completing the season sweep of Cornerstone.
Tech (15-6, 10-4 WHAC) returns home on Wednesday, January 25, when they host Michigan-Dearborn in their Suits and Sneakers Game. Tip is set for 6 p.m. from the Schaefer Center.
