LIMA, Ohio – The Indiana Tech men's soccer team fell to defending Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) champion University of Northwestern Ohio (UNOH), 3-1, on Wednesday afternoon at St. Rita's Sports Complex.
The Warriors would strike first as
Johender Mendoza crossed one into the box that would bounce off the post and roll into the back of the net for his second goal of the year. That would be the only goal until a foul on Tech keeper
Edwin Rosado led to a penalty kick in the 68
th minute which Jose Pizzaro converted to notch the score at 1-1.
Pizzaro would score the game-winning goal just four minutes later while the Racers would tack on an insurance goal in the 83
rd minute to seal the game as the UNOH defense allowed just one shot on goal in the second half.
Rosado finished the game six saves while
Oswaldo Segura Diaz had the assist on the lone Warrior goal.
Tech (8-4-0, 4-2-0 WHAC) returns to action on Saturday as they host Marygrove on Senior Day. Kickoff is set for 12 p.m. from Warrior Athletic Field.
