FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech women's soccer team fell to No. 3-ranked and defending NAIA National Champion University of Northwestern Ohio, 6-1, on Wednesday evening in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) action at Warrior Athletic Field.
The Racers would control the game from the start as they fired off four shots on goal in the first 17 minutes of action before breaking through in the 20
th minute for the 1-0 lead. UNOH would strike against just one minute later as Camilla Andersen notched her second goal of the game.
The Warrior defense allow just two more shots on frame through the rest of the first half, but the visitors would extend their lead to 3-0 in the 34
th minute off the set piece.
UNOH would continue to dominate through the second half, tacking on three more goals before
Kayla Saffran put the Warriors on the board as she headed in the free kick from
Sydney Lemelin in the 88
th minute.
Christina Wynn finished the game with 10 saves in the loss, the first for the Warriors in conference play.
Tech (7-5-1, 4-1-1 WHAC) returns to action on Wednesday, October 18 as they head to Adrian, Michigan for a battle with Siena Heights. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. from O'Laughlin Stadium.
