Box Score MACOMB, Mich. – The Indiana Tech men's ice hockey team opened its road slate Friday evening as they defeated Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) foe Rochester, 7-1, at Suburban Ice Macomb.
"We had a good pace today which is what we've been working on," head coach
Frank DiCristofaro said. "
John Slavik also bailed us out a few times tonight. We'll need to tighten things upon our own end moving forward but overall I was happy with today's effort."
Tech would jump all over the Warriors in the opening period as
Stavros Soilis notched a pair of goals while
Jace Childs made it a 3-0 game with just over five minutes left in the period.
The Orange and Black would get their special teams going in the second as
Blake Cudmore lit the lamp on the power play while
Ryan Attwood added another man-advantage goal in the third to complete the Warrior scoring.
John Slavik recorded his second win of the season with 30 saves while
Adam Jonak and
Dominick Manochio notched three assists each.
Tech (3-0-0, 1-0-0 WHAC) concludes their season series with Rochester on Saturday with a 5:30 p.m. puck drop at the SportONE/Parkview Ice House.
