FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech men's soccer team topped Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) rival Siena Heights, 5-1, Wednesday evening from Warrior Athletic Field.
Andrew Higgins would kick things off for the Warriors with a shot from the sideline for his fourth goal of the season in the 44
th minute for the 1-0 early. Tech would continue to add to their lead to kick off the second half with
Oswaldo Segura Diaz finding
Brandon Dinsmore in the 52
nd minute for his first goal of the season and a 2-0 Warrior lead.
Richard Doll would find the back of the goal for his fourth score of the season in the 57
th minute to push the lead to 3-0 with Segura Diaz would receiving credit for the assist. The Saints wouldn't allow an Orange and Black to record the shutout though, as Brent Rodden took an assist from Rahbar Khan in the 69
th minute to cut the lead to 3-1.
It was the Warriors who would quickly answer back to their opponents as Segura Diaz would find
Malte Dennert for this third goal of the season in the 71
st minute. A free kick late in the game would find
Fabian Kaufmann in the box, who blasted into the net to put the cap on Tech's 5-1 victory.
Edwin Rosado would make four saves for the Orange and Black in the win.
Tech (10-5-0, 6-2-0 WHAC) returns to action on Saturday as they travel to Aquinas for a 12:30 p.m. matchup from Aquinas College Athletic Field.
