LIVONIA, Mich. – The Indiana Tech men's soccer team fell to Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) rival Madonna, 3-1, Wednesday evening from Madonna Soccer Field.
Madonna got things going first in the contest with the lone goal of the first half coming from Hector Morales in the 27
th minute. Despite the 1-0 deficit at the end of the first forty-five minutes, Tech would outshoot their opponents 7-5, which would remain the trend into the second half of play.
The score would remain 1-0 in Madonna's favor the remainder of the half and into the 55
th minute when Billy Werthman sent the Crusaders second goal to go ahead 2-0. Madonna would continue to add to their lead with Yuri Farkas scoring in the 66
th minute from a penalty kick goal.
The Warriors would avoid the shutout with their lone goal coming off the
Dean Ward blast from 30 yards out for the score in the 87
th minute, but would ultimately fall to the hosts 3-1 at the end of the 90 minutes
Edwin Rosado would make six saves for the Orange and Black in the loss.
The Warriors sit in fifth place in the WHAC with 18 points, just three points back of the University of Northwestern Ohio for fourth.
Tech (10-7-0, 6-4-0 WHAC) returns to action on Saturday they travel to Pontiac, Michigan for their final regular season contest at 2 p.m. in a matchup with Rochester College at Ultimate Soccer Arena.
