PONTIAC, Mich. – The Indiana Tech men's soccer team concluded its regular season on Saturday afternoon at they defeated Rochester, 2-1, at Ultimate Soccer Arena. With the win, the Warriors clinched the fifth seed for the upcoming Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Tournament.
Tech got on the scoreboard early as
Richard Doll found the back of the net in the 11
th minute to make it a 1-0 game, while
Fabian Kaufmann doubled the Warrior lead in the 57
th minute. Rochester would cut the deficit to one in the 90
th minute with a goal from Mark Shawan, but it would be too little too late for the hosts as Tech snapped a two-game losing skid with the win.
Brandon Dinsmore,
Oswaldo Segura Diaz and
Dean Ward all notched assists on the day while
Edwin Rosado made two saves in goal for the win.
Tech (11-7-0, 7-4-0 WHAC) will open up the WHAC Tournament on the road against defending conference and tournament champion University of Northwestern Ohio on Saturday, November 4. Kickoff time is still to be determined.
