FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech men's soccer team suffered a heartbreaking 3-2 double overtime loss on Wednesday evening to Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) foe Lawrence Tech at Warrior Athletic Field.
The Blue Devils would control the pace and flow of the game in the first half, out-shooting the Warriors 9-1 while Alvaro Garcia would give the visitors the lead in the 15
th minute. Tech would convert off back-to-back corner kicks in the 57
th minute though, as
Brennan Cochran knocked in the equalizer following
Ruben Leonardo's boot from the corner.
Lawrence Tech would quickly retake the lead four minutes later thanks to an end-line pass, but Cochran would convert the Warriors first penalty kick of the season in the 62
nd minute to tie the game back up at 2-2.
Neither side would record a shot on goal in overtime until the 108
th minute as Chris Serwatka got ahold of the ball after a shot that hit the post and was able to cross it in to Adrian Miling who knocked it in for the game-winner.
Edwin Rosado made five saves in the loss, the first for the Warriors in conference action.
Tech (7-4-0, 3-1-0 WHAC) returns to action on Saturday when they host Cornerstone. Kickoff is set for 12 p.m. from Warrior Athletic Field.
