Warriors Extend Win Streak to Seven at Iowa State

Box Score AMES, Iowa – The Indiana Tech men's ice hockey team ran its winning streak to seven games on Friday evening as they defeated ACHA No. 12-ranked Iowa State, 5-2, at the Ames/ISU Ice Arena.

"I was really happy with our effort today," head coach Frank DiCristofaro said. "We started on time and jumped out to a quick lead. I think that allowed Larry (Zach Larson) to settle in and he made some key saves in key situations. We need to carry this in to the rest of the weekend."

Stavros Soilis put the Warriors up early with two goals in the first period, by Ryan Attwood capped the first 20 minutes with a goal of his own. The Cyclones would cut the deficit down to one with a goal in the second and one at 18:57 in the third, but Tech would respond with goals from Mike Tish and Jarrett Pfeiffer to extend their advantage to three while starting off their final weekend of the fall semester with the 5-2 win.

Zach Larson made 34 saves in net to pick up the win.

Tech (14-0-1) concludes their fall semester schedule on Saturday with a rematch against the Cyclones. Puck drop is set for 8:30 p.m. EST from the Ames/ISU Ice Arena.
