Box Score BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – The No. 24-ranked Indiana Tech men's ice hockey team snapped a three-game losing streak on Friday night as they defeated Illinois State, 4-1, at the Pepsi Ice Center.
"Tonight I thought we clicked on all cylinders," head coach
Frank DiCristofaro said. "We were successful on special teams and 5-on-5 situations. Their goalie made some great stops, but I was happy with our persistence especially in the offensive zone."
The Warriors would find their offensive rhythm in the first period as
Joe Molfetta and Jarett Pfeiffer would score at 11:28 and 6:45, respectively, with the latter's coming on a man-advantage.
Brian Skillicorn would tack on a short-handed goal at 13:30 in the second while
Quentin Holmes would make it a 4-1 game at 11:35 in the third to answer the Redbirds lone goal.
Chet Tooker finished the game with 20 saves in net while
Dominick Manochio tallied two assists on the night.
Ryan Attwood,
Dylan Grant,
Zack Morlock and Holmes would also be credited with assists.
Tech (15-17-1) concludes its weekend set with Illinois State on Saturday with a 7:20 p.m. EST puck drop from the Pepsi Ice Center.
