DETROIT – The No. 18-ranked Indiana Tech women's basketball team closed out is regular season road schedule on Wednesday evening as they defeated Marygrove, 85-40, in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) plat at the Northwest Activities Center for their 10
th straight win.
Taylor Seiss scored a game-high 22 points, grabbed six rebounds and dished out three assists while
Kendall Knapke added 19 points, nine rebounds, three blocks and two assists.
Haley Cook chipped in 12 points while
Keanna Gary grabbed a game-high 16 rebounds.
After trading baskets with the Mustangs through the first five minutes of the game, the Warriors would go on a 14-0 run, sparked by four consecutive three-pointer from Cook (2), Seiss and Knapke while Seiss would knock down another triple with 13 seconds left in the first quarter to give Tech a 23-8 lead at the first intermission.
Another triple from Seiss would open the second half to spark an 18-4 run as the visitors would hold Marygrove to single digits for the second straight quarter and took a 43-17 lead into the locker room at the half.
The hosts would come out of the locker room on a 5-0 spurt to start the third quarter, but Coach
Jessie Biggs' team would respond with a 22-0 lead, with the Orange and Black draining five triples in that run and taking a 64-25 lead heading into the final period.
The Warriors would close out their road schedule with a 21-15 fourth quarter to sweep the Mustangs with the 85-40 win and a 10-3 mark.
Tech (23-6, 17-4 WHAC) closes out the regular season on Saturday when they host No. 6 and WHAC champion Davenport on Senior Day. Tipoff is set for 1 p.m. from the Schaefer Center while Senior Day festivities will take place prior to the game.
