WALESKA, Ga. – The No. 7-ranked Indiana Tech men's lacrosse team fell to No. 4-ranked Reinhardt, 21-11, in their season opener at Ken White Field.
Jace Childs gave the Warriors the early lead with a goal just 39 seconds into the game, but the Eagles would respond with a goal from Bennett Jarrett at the 11:51 mark.
Noah Puckett and
Will McKinney would counter with goals at 9:44 and 8:48 to put the Orange and Black up 3-1, but the hosts would strike back with five consecutive goals and take a 7-4 lead after the first intermission.
Reinhardt would continue to control the game through the second quarter, outscoring Tech 4-1 to take a 12-5 lead into the locker room at half time while adding four more goals in the third quarter to make it a 16-7 game.
Will McKinney and
Jace Childs each score a pair of goals in the fourth quarter, but the Eagles lead would be too much as Tech fell 21-11.
McKinney finished with a team-high five goals while Childs recorded a hat trick.
Lee Raymond grabbed six ground balls and won eight faceoffs.
Tech (0-1) concludes its season-opening road trip on Sunday as they take on Tennessee Wesleyan at 12 p.m. from the TWU Lacrosse Field.
