SEGUIN, Texas – The Indiana Tech softball team was swept by Texas Lutheran in a doubleheader on Friday afternoon at Ed Kruse Stadium, falling, 6-1, and, 8-0, in six innings.
 
The Bulldogs took an early 1-0 lead over the Warriors in the first inning before taking advantage of a Tech error to score a pair of unearned runs in the second to extend their lead to 3-0. Madison Ohnesorge would single to start the third and come around to score three batters later after a pair of wild pitches to cut the deficit to 3-1, but the hosts would tack on runs in the next three innings to take the first game of the four-game series.
 
Kelsey Robinson would go 1-3 in the game while Hannah Foltz went 0-2 with a walk.
 
The Bulldogs would pound out 11 hits in the nightcap and go up on the visitors in the bottom of the first again, as Kyla Lockley would get hit by a pitch before stealing second and third and eventually getting knocked in with two outs. Texas Lutheran would add two more runs in the fifth before scoring five in the sixth to make it 8-0 and put the run-rule into effect.
 
Foltz would draw another walk in game two while Brianna Glass stole a pair of bases.
 
Tech (3-15-1) concludes their Spring Break trip to the Lone Star State Friday with another doubleheader against the Bulldogs, with first pitch set for 1 p.m. EDT from Ed Kruse Stadium.
