AUSTIN, Texas – The Indiana Tech softball team overcame a late three-run deficit for their second win in a row as they defeated Concordia (Texas), 10-8, on Thursday evening at Tornado Softball Field.
The Warriors jumped over the Tornados in the second inning with a four-run inning, with RBI doubles from
Madison Ohnesorge and
Lauren Ohnesorge sandwiching a
Kelsey Robinson RBI single.
The hosts would come back with runs in the third, fourth and fifth, scoring five runs to take an 8-5 lead in the bottom of the fifth. Tech would answer back in the next frame though, putting up a five-spot of their own to take a 10-8 lead. The Orange and Black would take advantage of two Tornado errors while
Selena Schulteis would deliver a bases-clearing 3-RBI double in the first pitch of her at-bat to give the visitors the lead for good.
Jamie Conrad would allow just one base runner in the final two frames to seal the victory for Tech and pick up her first win of the season, finishing with a line of 2.2 innings, three runs, one earned, on three hits.
Lauren Ohnesorge would finish with a game-high four RBI's and go 3-5 from the plate while
Kelsey Robinson went 3-5 with two runs scored.
Tech (3-13-1) starts their final series of their Texas Spring Break trip with a visit Texas Lutheran on Friday, the first of four games in Seguin, Texas. First pitch is set for 2 p.m. from Ed Kruse Field at Morck Field.
