FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech men's lacrosse team had their five-game winning streak snapped by Ottawa, 15-11, on Monday evening at Warrior Athletic Field in nonconference action.
Tech got on the board first just 55 seconds into the game as
Jace Childs scored his team-leading 25
th goal of the season, while
Will McKinney added a pair of goals to answer the Braves first goal of the at the 13:30 mark to give the Warriors a 3-1 lead with 7:29 left in the first quarter. The Braves would close the quarter strong with three goals in the final 6:08 to take a 4-3 lead.
Chandler Peterson would tie game up at 4-4 with 11:40 in the second, but the visitors would go up by two goals with 26 seconds left in the first half. Ottawa would outscore the Orange and Black 6-2 in the fourth, with three goals coming in the first three minutes of the period to take 12-7 lead and hold off a late charge from the Warriors to seal the win.
McKinney finished the game with a game-high seven goals while adding six ground balls and four caused turnovers.
Chandler Peterson and
Jordan Reyes each picked up seven ground balls with the former adding a hat trick.
Tech (5-2) returns to Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) action Wednesday as they travel to Madonna for a 3 p.m. faceoff.
