LIVONIA, Mich. – The No. 10-ranked Indiana Tech men's got back on the winning track Wednesday afternoon as they defeated Madonna, 28-5, in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) action at the Madonna Athletic Complex.
Tech opened the game by scoring three goals in the first five minutes of the game as they lead wire-to-wire. The Crusaders would get on the board at the 7:29 mark of the first quarter, but the Warriors would respond with six goals in the final six minutes of the period to take a 9-1 lead into the first intermission.
The Orange and Black would continue the scoring onslaught in the second quarter as they outscored the hosts 6-2 while dominating the scoreboard in the second half with a 13-2 scoring advantage.
Brandon Gates scored a career-high six goals and dished out four assists to lead the Warriors while
Jace Childs added five goals and three assists.
Lee Raymond went 23-28 in the faceoff circle and picked up 15 ground balls.
Chandler Peterson chipped in four goals while
Noah Puckett,
Will McKinney and
Conner Vachon all record a hat trick, with Puckett adding six assists.
Joe Dosen made one save in goal for the win.
Tech (6-2, 2-0 WHAC) continues conference play Saturday as they host Michigan-Dearborn in a 3 p.m. faceoff at Warrior Athletic Field.
