Balanced Attack Leads Warriors Past Gray Wolves

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The No. 4-ranked Indiana Tech women's lacrosse team used a balanced scoring effort to defeat Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) foe Lourdes, 17-4, on Wednesday evening at Warrior Athletic Field.

Heidi Tremaine started a 5-0 spurt from the Warriors at the 25:47 mark in the first half with the hosts scoring their next three goals in the next three minutes and forcing the Gray Wolves to call an early timeout.

After a goal from the visitors Alyssa Long, Sam Vikstrom would start another 5-0 run for Tech at the 10:29 mark in the second with Kristina Scott making it 10-1 with 72 seconds remaining until the half.

Lourdes would cut the deficit to 10-2 just 59 seconds into the second half, but the Orange and Black would turn up the intensity over the next seven minutes as they notched four more goals to make it a 14-2 game and start the running clock.

Scott, Tremaine and McKenna Mesclier each recorded three goals apiece while Scott and Tremaine notched two assists each. Vikstrom would lead both teams in ground balls (eight), caused turnovers (8) and draw controls (seven) while Bailey Childs had five ground balls, five draw controls and three assists.
