SYLVANIA, Ohio – The No. 4-rankedIndiana Tech women's lacrosse team snapped a two-game losing skid as they defeated Lourdes, 19-9, on Wednesday evening at Wildcat Stadium in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) play.
Heidi Tremaine would put the Warriors up 1-0 just 20 seconds into the game, but the Gray Wolves would respond just over three minutes later with a goal from Alyssa Long to tie it up 1-1.
McKenna Mesclier would start a 6-0 run for Tech at the 25:03 mark however, to give the visitors a 7-1 lead. Leading 10-0 at the half, the Orange and Black would extend their lead to 15-5 with just over 10 minutes gone in the second half to start the running clock.
Lourdes would stop the running clock for a two-minute stretch, but the Warriors would retake the 10-goal lead with 10 minutes left to get back in the win column.
Tremaine finished with a game-high five goals while
Kristina Scott added four goals.
Sam Vikstrom grabbed seven ground balls, four draw controls and caused two turnovers while scoring both her goals on free-position opportunities.
Sydney Davis made eight saves in net for the win.
Tech (12-3, 8-3 WHAC) returns to action on Tuesday, April 18, as they host No. 3-ranked Lawrence Tech. Opening draw is set for 5 p.m. from Warrior Athletic Field.
