Warriors End Regular Season with Loss to Spartans

ST LOUIS, Mo. – The No. 4-ranked Indiana Tech men's lacrosse team concluded its regular season on Saturday afternoon with a 16-8 loss to No. 9-ranked Missouri Baptist at MBU Spartan Field.

The Spartans would come out of the gates firing as they took a 3-0 lead with 7:45 left in the first quarter. Will McKinney would put the Warriors on the board 49 seconds later with the visitors a man-up, but the hosts would go on a 5-0 spurt, with the last four goals coming in the first four minutes of the second quarter, to open an 8-1 game.

Lee Raymond would give Tech some momentum just before half with a goal to cut it to 8-2 while Jace Childs would give the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) co-champions some more with the first of his three goals at the 13:32 mark in the third to cut the deficit to five.

The Spartans would recover to score three goals in the third before adding five more in the fourth to snap the Warriors three-game winning streak.

Raymond would lead both teams in ground balls with nine while going 15-20 in the faceoff circle while Chandler Peterson would add two goals and two assists.

Tech (11-4) starts its postseason run Wednesday when they host Aquinas in the semifinals of the WHAC Tournament. Opening faceoff is set for 8 p.m. from Warrior Athletic Field.
