Men’s Lacrosse Captures First-Ever WHAC Title, Host Aquinas Wednesday

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech men's lacrosse team made history last week as they captured their first-ever Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) regular season title following a Siena Heights loss and earned the number one seed for this week's WHAC Tournament.

Tech finished conference play with a 6-1 mark, their lone blemish coming at the hands of Siena Heights on April 1, a 14-10 loss. The Warriors finished the regular season tied with Lawrence Tech atop the standings to share the regular season title, and earned the tiebreaker for number one seed rights thanks to a 19-16 upset over the then-No. 3-ranked Blue Devils on April 5.

First-year head coach Bryan Seaman and his team will now open the postseason on Wednesday, April 19, against fourth-seeded Aquinas, who edged out Siena Heights for the final spot thanks to a 17-16 overtime win in their penultimate game of the season to hold the tiebreaker as both teams finished 4-3 in WHAC play.

Opening faceoff is set for 8 p.m. from Warrior Athletic Field.
