RIO GRANDE, Ohio – The Indiana Tech men's soccer team fell to No. 4-ranked University of Rio Grande, 1-0, on Thursday evening at Evan Davis Field to start a quick two-game road swing.
"We played a very good team and we're able to meet at least one of our three objectives: being hard to beat and maintaining a certain level of discipline," head coach
David Bokhart said.
"The other two objectives: finding ways to keep the ball and build efficiently; and creating and finishing a chance; we need to keep growing. Our experience helped up reach the first goal. We need to improve tactically to achieve the second objective and develop a killer instinct to get the goals."
The Red Strom would score the game's only goal in the 20
th minute as they converted off a corner kick with a header from Mitchell Osmond. The Warriors would have a couple of chances to tie the game up in the second half, but URG keeper Luis Rodriguez would stop shots from
Ryan Hayhurst and
Richard Doll in the 69
th and 81
st minutes, respectively.
Edwin Rosado would make three saves in the loss.
Tech (3-2) returns to action on Saturday as they take on Shawnee State. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. from Shawnee Turf Field.
