RIVERVIEW, Mich. – The Indiana Tech women's soccer team picked up their second win in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) action on Tuesday night as they defeated newcomer University of Michigan-Dearborn, 3-1, at Gabriel Richard High School.
The first-year varsity program took the early lead over the Warriors as Valeria Cossyleon put one past
Christina Wynn in the fourth minute, but
Tori Singstock would notch her fifth goal of the season just five minutes later to tie the match up at 1-1.
Tech would continue to pepper Wolverine keeper Jordan Anheuser throughout the first half, recording 23 shots in all with 19 coming on frame.
Shelby Lucas would break the tie in the 30
th minute and made it a 3-1 contest in the 44
th minute with her second goal of the game.
The Orange and Black maintained their control of the game into the second half, allowing just one shot on goal while the visiting offense fired off 10 more shots on frame. Tech finished with a season-high 29 shots on goal.
Hannah Duschl and
Lily Rothert would each record an assist while Wynn finished with two saves as she picked her third win of the year.
Tech (5-4-0, 2-0-0 WHAC) continues a three-game road trip on Saturday as they take on Lourdes. Kickoff is set for 12 p.m. from Wildcat Stadium.
