SYLVANIA, Ohio – The No. 8-ranked Indiana Tech women's basketball team won its 14
th consecutive game on Saturday afternoon as they defeated Lourdes, 74-46, in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) action inside the Ebeid Recreation Center.
Keanna Gary notched her 17
th double-double of the season with a game-high 26 points and 13 rebounds while
Kendall Knapke went over the 1,000-point mark with 17 points and grabbed eight assists.
Haley Cook chipped in 14 points and
Rachel Bell (9) and
Bella Lozano-Dobbs (7) combined for 16 assists in the win.
The Gray Wolves held the early advantage over the Warriors, leading 10-7 after the first 3:20 of the game, but Tech would closed out the quarter on a 15-0 run, with Cook scoring nine consecutive points in the run, to give the visitors a 22-10 lead at the break.
The Orange and Black would score the first four points of the second quarter before Lourdes broke a 9:17 scoreless drought with 7:26 to go in the half to make it a 26-13 game. The hosts cut the deficit down to 13 points with 2:01 on the clock, but the Warriors closed the half with a three-pointer from
Baylee Rinehart and a basket from Gary to take a 40-22 lead into the locker room.
An 11-0 run from the visitors would start the third quarter as the number eight team in the nation extended their lead to 29 points at 51-22 with three minutes gone in the second half. Tech's lead never fell below 22 points for the rest of the game while they led by as many as 32 points to pick up their 14
th straight win.
Tech (23-2, 14-1 WHAC) returns to action on Wednesday as they continue a three-game road swing with a visit to the University of Michigan-Dearborn. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m. from the UM-Dearborn Fieldhouse.
