FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech women's soccer team defeated Lawrence Tech, 2-1, on Saturday afternoon at Warrior Athletic Field to snap a three-game losing streak in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) action.
The Warriors struck quickly as
Kayla Saffran scored just four minutes into the match while
Kristen Roe put the Orange and Black up 2-0 in the 34
th minute. The Blue Devils cut the deficit to 2-1 in the 77
th minute but the Warrior defense tightened up and did not allow a shot on goal after that as the hosts came away with the victory.
Ally Zenda made four saves in the win while
Lily Rothert had the assist on the Saffran goal.
Tech (4-10-0, 3-4-0 WHAC) returns to action Wednesday as they travel to No. 25-ranked University of Northwestern Ohio. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. from Racer Soccer Field at the St. Rita's Sports Complex.
