FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech men's ice hockey team defeated Lawrence Tech, 7-1, on Friday evening at the SportONE/Parkview Ice House in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) action.

The Warriors started the scoring early as
Adam Vannelli made it 1-0 just 19 seconds into the game while
Stavros Soilis made it 2-0 with a power play goal at the 10:34 mark. Lawrence Tech cut the deficit to one with a power play goal of their own at 12:49 in the second, but goals from
Joel Holmberg at 9:13 and 5:14 gave the hosts a 4-1 lead at the end of two periods.
Francesco Corona extended the advantage to 5-1 at 14:21 in the third while Holmberg got a hat trick 35 seconds later to put the Orange and Black up 6-1.
Nick Papandrea capped the scoring with 4:53 to go in the game.
Linenberg made 18 saves in net to pick up the win while Corona added a team-high five assists to go along with his goal.
Tech (5-2-0, 5-2-0 WHAC) returns to action Saturday against Lawrence Tech in a nonconference matchup. Puck drop is set for 5:30 p.m. from the SportONE/Parkview Ice House.
