Warriors Fall to Lawrence Tech

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech men's ice hockey team fell to Lawrence Tech, 4-1, on Saturday evening at the SportONE/Parkview Ice House in North American Intercollegiate Hockey Association (NAIHA) play.

"We didn't play with a great effort today," said head coach Frank DiCristofaro. "We need to pick up the intensity and focus Sunday to finish out the weekend strong."

The Warriors scored the first goal of the game as Joel Holmberg converted on the man advantage with 6:14 to play in the first in what would be the hosts lone goal of the contest. Lawrence Tech knotted the game up at 1-1 at 15:56 in the second before scoring twice in the final minutes of the period to take a 3-1 lead into the third.

The Orange and Black had a pair of power play opportunities in the third but couldn't convert as they suffered their first nonconference loss of the season.

Ryan O'Toole made 26 saves in the loss while Adam Vannelli and Stavros Soilis notched assists.

Tech (5-3-0) concludes a busy weekend Sunday by hosting Western Michigan in the I-69 Cup. Puck drop is set for 12:30 p.m. from the SportONE/Parkview Ice House.
