PONITAC, Mich. – The Indiana Tech women's soccer team picked up three points Friday evening in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) play as they defeated Rochester College, 3-0, at Ultimate Soccer Arena.
Tech dominated the action from the opening kickoff as they recorded four shots on goal in the first 18 minutes of the game before
Lily Rothert put the visitors on the scoreboard in the 23
rd minute. The Orange and Black kept the pressure on the hosts for the rest of the half with more shots on goal, but couldn't find the back of the net and took a 1-0 lead into the half.
Rothert would find
Molly Ames off a corner kick in the 55
th minute to put the Warriors up 2-0 while Rothert made it a 3-0 advantage in the 90
th minute for the five-point night.
Ally Zenda made six saves in goal to notch the win and her first career shutout.
Tech (5-11-0, 4-5-0 WHAC) returns to action on Wednesday, October 24 as they kick off the final week of the regular season with a matchup against Cleary at home. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. from Warrior Athletic Field.
