FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech men's ice hockey team fell to Western Michigan, 5-2, iin an exhibition in the first game of the I-69 Cup on Sunday afternoon at the SportONE/Parkview Ice House.
"We're struggling to find the back of the net," said head coach
Frank DiCristofaro. "We've outshot every team we've played, but we need to find a way to finish on those chances."
The Stallions came out with a pair of goals in the first and tacked on two more in the second to chase Bryson Linenberg with 12:24 to play in the period.
Brian Skillicorn got Tech on the scoreboard with 3:58 to play in the second and
Adam Jonak scored with 6:40 left to play in regulation, but it would not be enough as Tech fell to their former Great Lakes Collegiate Hockey League (GLCHL) rival.
Tech (5-3-0) returns to action Friday as they travel to Waldorf University for a North American Intercollegiate Hockey Association (NAIAH) matchup. Puck drop is set for 8:30 p.m. EDT from Albert Lea City Arena.
