LIVONIA, Mich. – The Indiana Tech women's soccer team fell to Madonna University, 2-0, Wednesday afternoon in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) play at the MU Soccer and Lacrosse Field at the Madonna Athletic Complex.
The Crusaders jumped out to an early lead in the 11
th minute of the match on a ball that was shot in the lower-left corner of the goal. Tech came right back with a pair of shots on frame from
Kayla Saffran and
Lily Rothert in the 11
th and 18
th minutes, but were unable to beat Madonna's keeper. The hosts added another goal in the 38
th minute to take a 2-0 lead into the half.
Christina Wynn kept the Warriors in the game with eight saves in the second half, but the Crusader defense held the Orange and Black off the scoreboard and snapped the visitors two-game winning streak. Wynn finished the game with 12 saves.
Tech (3-8-0, 2-2-0 WHAC) returns to action Saturday as they travel to Siena Heights. Kickoff is set for 12 p.m. from O'Laughlin Stadium.
