The Warriors extended their win streak to 6 games this past weekend after sweeping Midland University. Their game plan was to stay disciplined and play together as a team and that is exactly what they did. Friday night the Orange and Black won 6-2 and Saturday the final was 4-3. Midland sat atop the NAIHA standings coming into the weekend with a 9-0 record. Tech put the first blemish on Midland's record this season.
"Going into Midland is always a challenging weekend, but with them being 9-0 we felt a lot more determined to beat them than normal." That is a quote from Junior defenseman
Nick Papandrea. Teams seem to increase their determination and intensity when facing a rival. The team who comes away with the win, usually is the team that plays with more heart and determination.
This weekend brings on a new opponent for the Warriors, The Concordia University Cardinals. The Cardinals are a first-year team that are still finding their identity in some aspect. The Warriors do not know a lot about this team. "Even though we do not know much about this team, we need to bring the same physicality and skill set that we bring day-in and day-out."
Being good is being consistent. Consistent play is what has brought the Warriors to this 6-game win streak. Everything seems to be clicking for Tech and they hope things will remain the same going into the weekend's slate of games.
Friday night's game against Concordia University is scheduled for 8:30 P.M., while Saturday's contest will be at 7:00 P.M. Both games will be at the Arctic Coliseum in Chelsea, Michigan.
Next week will not feature a blog post. Hope everyone has a safe and happy Thanksgiving Break! #EarnIT #GoForIT
