FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech men's ice hockey team defeated Lindenwood University – Belleville, 8-1, on Friday evening in North American Intercollegiate Hockey Association (NAIHA) play at the SportONE/Parkview Ice House.
"I think we played well in facets of the game tonight," said head coach
Frank DiCristofaro. "We need to carry this into tomorrow."
Joel Holmberg put the Warriors on the scoreboard just 74 seconds into the game and while the Lynx knotted the game up at 1-1 at the 12:48 mark in the first, it would be tied for just six more minutes before
Francesco Corona put Tech up 2-1 with 6:52 left in the first.
Ryan Attwood started a three-goal second period with a power play goal at the 15:08 mark while Stavros Solilis notched a hat trick with a short-handed goal with 38 seconds left in the game.
Ryan O'Toole made 16 saves in net to pick up the win while Corona had three assists.
Tech (8-4-0) returns to action Saturday with the weekend finale against Lindenwood-Belleville. Puck drop is set for 5:30 p.m. from the SportONE/Parkview Ice House.
