FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech men's ice hockey team defeated Lindenwood University – Belleville, 6-4, on Saturday evening at the SportONE/Parkview Ice House in North American Intercollegiate Hockey Association (NAIHA) action.
The Lynx jumped out to an early lead as they scored 30 seconds into the game, but the Warriors would answer back with goals from
Adam Vannelli and
Adam Jonak, with the latter coming on the penalty kill. Lindenwood-Belleville tied the game up at 7:22 in the first, but Tech would score three goals in the second to take a 5-3 lead.
Jonak tacked on his second goal of the evening, this time on the power play, with 15:37 to play in the third while the Orange and Black held off a late charge from the visitors, which included killing a 5-3 power play and a five-minute man-advantage opportunity for the Lynx, to complete the sweep.
Joel Holmberg also scored two goals while
Jarrett Pfeiffer tallied two assists.
Ryan O'Toole made 19 saves in the win.
Tech (9-4-0) starts a five-game road trip next weekend as they travel to Midland University. Puck drop on Friday is set for 8:45 p.m. EST from Sidner Ice Arena.
