Tech Downs Trojans To Pick Up First Win of the Season

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The No. 5-ranked Indiana Tech men's basketball team defeated Taylor University, 69-58, on Saturday afternoon in the Cornerstone University Classic inside Mol Arena.
 
Logan Primerano led both teams with a game-high 26-points while Joel Wincowski had 13 points and 10 rebounds. Josh Kline had eight points, four rebounds and two blocks while Max Huber grabbed eight rebounds.
 
The Trojans got off to a fast start as they used an 11-3 spurt to hold a 15-8 advantage at the 14:31 mark in the first half. Tech battled back to tie the game up at 18-18 following a three-pointer by Primerano at the 8:21 mark. A back-and-forth affair took hold of the rest of the half with the Warriors holding a 33-29 lead at the break.
 
The Orange and Black built their lead up to 46-36 with 12:45 to play in the game following a 10-2 run by the Warriors. Tech maintained a double-digit lead until the 7:46 mark, but would not allow the lead to shrink under eight points as the Warriors on a 9-6 spurt to hold off the Trojans and win 69-58.
 
Tech (1-3) returns to action on Tuesday, November 6 as they travel to No. 21-ranked Trinity International University. Tip-off is set for 8 p.m. EST from Henry VanDixhorn Arena inside the Meyer Sports Complex.
