11/19/18 - Indiana Tech has forfeited this game to Trinity International due to the use of an ineligible player during the contest. Only the W-L record of the schools is affected and the stats will remain unchanged.
DEERFIELD, Ill. – The No. 5-ranked Indiana Tech men's basketball team defeated No. 21-ranked Trinity International, 98-45, on Wednesday evening at the VanDixhorn Arena in nonconference action.
Logan Primerano led the Warriors with a game-high 22 points while
Joel Wincowski had 16 points, nine rebounds and five assists.
Darren Groves scored 16 points, grabbed 12 rebounds and dished out five assists off the bench.
Dylan Phair added 10 points to round out Tech's leaders.
The Trojans held a 9-8 lead with 14:30 to play in the first half, but an and-one play from Primerano kicked off an 11-2 run that gave the Warriors a 19-11 lead with 9:46 on the clock. A triple from Wincowski started a 25-0 run over a seven-minute timeframe that gave the visitors a 46-15 run while the Orange and Black led 50-20 at the half.
Tech continued to hold serve in the second half as they built their lead to as many as 53 points to set a season-high in points for a regulation game and won their second consecutive game.
Tech (2-3) returns to action on Saturday as they host No. 16-ranked University of Saint Francis (Ind.) in a rematch from November 2. Tip-off is set for 3 p.m. from the Schaefer Center.
