Box Score FREMONT, Neb. – The Indiana Tech men's ice hockey team defeated Midland University, 6-2, on Friday evening at Sidner Ice Arena for their fifth straight win while handing Midland their first loss of the season.
"I thought we played a solid game tonight," said head coach
Frank DiCristofaro. "On the road, hard work and special teams wins games and that's what we had tonight. Our penalty kill did a great job blocking shots and our power play capitalized on our chances."
Midland led 2-1 after the first period, but it would be all Tech the rest of the way as
Joel Holmberg and
Ryan Attwood scored in the second period to give the Orange and Black the 3-2 lead, while a three-goal third period put the visitors up 6-2.
Francesco Corona tallied two power play goals in the final period while
Nick Trefry also scored.
Bryson Linenburg made 49 saves in net to pick up the win while
Adam Jonak had the Warriors first goal of the night.
Tech (10-4-0) returns to action Saturday as they conclude their weekend travels to Midland. Puck drop is set for 5 p.m. EST from Sidner Ice Arena.
