The Warriors loaded up the bus on Thursday for a long 12-hour bus ride to Fremont, Nebraska to face bitter rival Midland University. Midland currently sits in first place in the NAIHA standings, while Tech is in third place.
Tech and Midland are virtually the same team. Both bring physicality and skill into the game which makes this weekend's games fun for each team. The Warriors are on a 4-game win streak after back-to-back sweeps of Waldorf College and Lindenwood-Belleville the previous two weekends. What has driven the Warriors current win streak? Leadership and hard work. These traits seem to be brought up every week it seems but these are the two most important traits a team can have.
Jarrett Pfeiffer and
Stavros Soilis are two players that always lead by example on the ice. They are not afraid to muck it up in the corners and block shots when needed. They are two players that are looked up to in the locker room and two very important pieces to the team.
What will it take to win this weekend for the Warriors? Discipline. Midland is a team that plays on the edge and likes to initiate extra curriculars after the whistle. Staying out of that and being disciplined will be the biggest key to Tech's success. "Playing for each other is one of the most important things when playing a team that tries to get under your skin." Is what Senior transfer,
Nick Trefry says will be an important aspect to this weekend's games.
The Warriors play at 7:30P.M. EST Friday, November 9
th and 5:00P.M. EST Saturday November 10
th. Both games will be played at Sidner Ice Arena in Fremont, Nebraska. #EarnIT #GoForIT
