Four-Goal Third Period Gives Tech 6-3 Win over Lynx

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech men's ice hockey team defeated Lindenwood-Belleville, 6-3, on Friday night at the SportONE/Parkview Ice House in NAIA Division action.

"I thought we found our legs midway through the second period and became to execute our fore-check well," head coach Frank DiCristofaro said. "Slavs (John Slavik) made some big saves for use early on that kept us in it and our special teams executed when we needed it. I was also happy to see (Stavros) Soilis find the back of the net multiple times tonight. Overall, I was happy with the effort."

The Lynx jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first five minutes of the second periord, but the Warriors responded with goals from Stavros Soilis and Jace Childs at 12:46 and 6:22 to knot the game up at 2=2 heading into the final period.

LU-Belleville retook the lead just under two minutes into the third, but Soilis tied the game up at 3-3 with 14:43 to play while Joe Molfetta notched the game-winning goal at 6:28 in the period. Francesco Corona and Mike Tish (empty-netter) would tack on insurance goals at 4:56 and 0:25, respectively, to give Tech the 6-3 win.

John Slavik made 24 saves in net to record his 11th win of the season.

Tech (20-8-2) returns to action Saturday as they host Lindenwood-Belleville in their final home game of the regular season. Puck drop is set for 5:30 p.m. from the SportONE/Parkview Ice House.
