SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – The Indiana Tech men's ice hockey team fell to Lawrence Tech in a shootout, 4-3, on Saturday evening at the Southfield Ice Arena.
The Warriors opened up the game on fire as they scored three times in the first period, with
Jimmie Kotilainen,
Jarrett Pfeiffer and
Francesco Corona all lighting the lamp for the Orange and Black. Lawrence Tech would not give up easily though, as they fought back to cut the deficit to 3-2 after 40 minutes of action and tied up the game with 9:36 to play in regulation.
The shootout would go four rounds, with Drake Gentile scoring the only goal of the shootout in the fourth round.
Slavik finished with 28 saves in the loss.
Tech (18-7-1) returns to action Friday as they host the University of Michigan-Dearborn in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) action and Senior Night. Puck drop is set for 8:30 p.m. from the SportONE/Parkview Ice House.
