FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The No. 6-ranked Indiana Tech women's lacrosse team defeated future Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) member Bethel College, 26-1, on Monday evening in their nonconference finale at Warrior Athletic Field. The Warriors tied the program record for goals in a game in the rout.
The Warriors got off to a quick start by scoring six goals in the first six minutes of action and
Jennifer Banks set the running clock in motion with 22:25 on the clock in the first half. Bethel notched their lone goal of the contest with 49 seconds to play in the first, but would be held off the scoreboard in the second half while Tech did not allow a shot on goal in the final 20 minutes of action.
Bailey Childs recorded a career-high 14 draw controls while leading the team in goals (three), assists (five), points (eight), caused turnovers (five) and ground balls (three).
Dakota Dawson also notched a hat trick while
Unitie Jarvis,
Sabrina Foest and
Cassie Mullins all had three ground balls.
Tech (7-2) returns to action Saturday as they open WHAC play against Lourdes. Opening draw is set for 5 p.m. from Wildcat Stadium.
