SYLVANIA, Ohio – The No. 6-ranked Indiana Tech women's lacrosse team opened Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) play on Saturday evening as they defeated Lourdes, 17-7, at Wildcat Stadium.
 
Lourdes opened up the scoring just a minute and a half into the game and were knotted up with the Warriors at 2-2 with 26:21 on the clock. Sam Vikstrom started a three-goal scoring streak for Tech with 25:03 to play in the first half while the visitors added six more goals in the final 17 minutes of the half to take a 10-3 lead into the locker room.
 
The Orange and Black limited the Gray Wolves to just three goals in the second half while they scored six of their own, with Kristina Scott capping the scoring with 5:46 to play in the game as she set the running clock in motion and improved their winning streak to three games.
 
Scott, Mackenzie Barnes and Bailey Childs all scored four goals with Childs adding a team-high six draw controls. Vikstrom had three goals, one assist, six ground balls, seven caused turnovers and five draw controls. Sydney Davis made 11 saves in the cage to pick up her seventh win of the season.
 
Tech (8-2, 1-0 WHAC) returns to action on Tuesday as they host Concordia in a WHAC battle. Opening draw is set for 5 p.m. from Warrior Athletic Field.
