ADRIAN, Mich. – The No. 5-ranked Indiana Tech women's lacrosse team ran its winning streak to seven games as they defeated No. 6-ranked Siena Heights, 13-7, on Wednesday evening at O'Laughlin Stadium.
Tech started off the game on fire as they scored four times in the first seven minutes of the game, with
Sam Vikstrom notching the first two goals while
McKenna Mesclier had the last two to force the Saints to call a timeout. Siena Heights scored twice in the next three minutes to make it a 4-2 game, and trailed 5-3 with 14:29 to play in the first half. Vikstrom scored her third goal of the game with 9:39 to play in the half to start a three-goal streak for the Warriors and they led 8-3 at the half.
The visitors grew their lead to 10-4 halfway through the second and tacked on a pair of goals in the final five minutes of the game to down the Saints by a 13-7 as the hosts never came within four goals after the 22 minute mark.
Mesclier and Vikstrom each finished with four goals and three caused turnovers each, with the former adding five ground balls and the latter adding three.
Sydney Davis made nine saves to pick up the win in the cage.
Tech (12-2, 4-0 WHAC) returns to action Saturday as they host No. 3-ranked Lawrence Tech. Opening draw is set for 1 p.m. from Warrior Athletic Field.
