Warriors Win Sixth Straight Game with Rout of Crusaders

LIVONIA, Mich. – The No. 6-ranked Indiana Tech women's lacrosse team won its sixth straight game on Saturday afternoon as they defeated Madonna, 21-6, at the MU Lacrosse Field on the Madonna Athletic Campus, in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) action.
 
The Warriors jumped out to an early lead as McKenna Mesclier scored just 108 seconds into the game and notched her second goal of the game at the 20:08 mark to give Tech a 3-0 lead. The Crusaders got on the scoreboard with 11 minutes gone in the game and trailed 8-4 with 7:09 to play in the first half, but the Orange and Black ended the half on a 3-0 run thanks to a pair of goals from Kristina Scott and one from Sarah Bates to give the visitors an 11-4 lead at the half.
 
Tech opened the second half with purpose though as they went on an 8-0 run to start the second 30 minutes of play to put the game out of reach with a 19-4 lead and 10 minutes left on the clock to notch their sixth straight win.
 
Sam Vikstrom scored a season-best six goals while adding two assists, three ground balls, two caused turnovers and nine draw controls. Scott tallied five goals while Mesclier finished the game with four. Jennifer Banks led the team in ground balls (four) and caused turnovers (three) and Sydney Davis made three saves in the cage to pick up her 10th win of the season.
 
Tech (11-2, 3-0 WHAC) returns to action on Wednesday, April 11 as they travel to Adrian, Michigan for a battle with No. 5-ranked Siena Heights. Opening draw is set for 6 p.m. from O'Laughlin Stadium.
