FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech men's soccer team took on city rival Saint Francis Wednesday evening at the Warrior Athletic Field, defeating the Cougars 2-0. The Warriors were coming off of back-to-back heartbreaking losses and wanted to bounce back against the Cougars.
The first half was even for both teams as they came out of the first half dead-locked at 0-0. The second half was a different story. The Warriors came out aggressive and hungry for goals. In the 49
th minute,
Erick Turner buried his fifth goal of the season off the cross from
Richard Doll, who then made it a 2-0 game in the 84
th minute to seal the match for the Warriors.
Doll and Turner both had a pair of shots on goals while the Orange and Black 10 shots on goal in all.
Ivan Safranic made three saves in goal to record the shutout.
Tech (3-3-0) returns to action Saturday as they travel to Taylor. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. from Turner Stadium.
