FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech women's volleyball defeated Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) foe Aquinas College in straight sets (25-21, 25-21, 26-24) Saturday afternoon inside the Schaefer Center.
 
Tech came out looking for a win after a heartbreaking loss Friday night. The Warriors and Saints were back and forth at the beginning of the first set, but the Orange and Black began to pull away towards the end with a score of 22-15. The Saints would make it close, but Tech prevailed 25-21.
 
The second set saw the Warriors down early by a score of 10-6, but they would crawl their way back to tie the game at 10-10. It was back-and-forth for the rest of the game, but Indiana Tech would come out on top once again by a score of 25-21.
 
The third game was more of a struggle for the Warriors. The Saints came out to a 8-5 lead which would eventually grow to a 20-16 advantage. After a timeout by Tech, the Warriors were determined to win the match as they came back to tie the set at 24-24 and took the next two points to complete the sweep.|
 
Freshman Erika Foy led the Warriors with 10 kills and a .409 attack percentage. Allison Cole had a match-high three blocks while Madeline MacDonald had 22 digs. Autumn Stokes and Madison Park combined for 30 assists.
 
Tech continues conference action on Wednesday, September 19 as they travel to Siena Heights, First serve is set for 7 p.m. from the Siena Heights Fieldhouse.
