MARION, Ind. – The Indiana Tech women's soccer team fell to regional foe Indiana Wesleyan, 2-1, in their nonconference final Wednesday evening at the IWU Soccer Field.
After a scoreless first half,
Danielle Blagojevic notched her first collegiate goal with a strike in the 54
th minute to put the Warriors up 1-0. The Wildcats kicked up the offensive pressure as they had five shots on frame in the next 10 minutes of play, but
Ally Zenda held the hosts off the scoreboard during the frenzy.
Zenda would stop three more shots before IWU broke through in the 79
th minute to tie the game up at 1-1 while the Wildcats took the lead four minutes later and held off the Orange and Black to complete the comeback win.
Zenda made a career-high 11 saves in the loss while
Hadley Hopkins had Tech's other shot on goal.
Tech (1-6-0) now turns its attention to Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) action Saturday as they travel to Aquinas College. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. from the AQ Athletic Field.
