GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Indiana Tech women's soccer team fell to Aquinas College in double overtime, 1-0, in their Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) opener at the AQ Athletic Field.
The Saints controlled possession for most of the match as they outshot the Warriors, 24-4, and 10-1 in shots on goal.
Lily Rothert recorded Tech's lone shot on goal in the 71
st minute while
Marina Steffke had a shot that ricocheted off the crossbar one minute later.
Backup goalkeeper
Christina Wynn kept the Orange and Black in the game with seven saves after coming on in the 34
th minute, but Aquinas would break the scoreless tie in the 107
th minute to steal three points.
Tech (1-7-0, 0-1-0 WHAC) returns to action Wednesday as they host Lourdes University. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. from Warrior Athletic Field.
