MISHAWAKA, Ind. – The Indiana Tech men's soccer fell to in-state foe Bethel College, 2-1, Saturday afternoon at Morey Field.
After a scoreless first half the Warrior took the first lead of the game in the 52
nd minute as
Jaxon Simerman knocked in the first goal of the game, but it would be a short-lived lead as the Pilots converted a penalty kick in the 64
th minute to knot up the game at 1-1. The hosts would then take a 2-1 lead in the 78
th minute as they converted another penalty shot.
Tech would earn some opportunities in the final 10 minutes of the game, but was unable to convert any into shot on goals as they dropped their second straight match.
Scott McCarthy and
Ruben Leonardo would get credited with assists while
Ivan Safranic made four saves in the loss.
Tech (2-3-0) returns to action Wednesday, September 12 as they host their crosstown rival Saint Francis. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. from Warrior Athletic Field.
