GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The No. 3-ranked Indiana Tech women's basketball team kicked off the second half of Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) play on Saturday afternoon with a dominating 97-52 victory over Cornerstone University at Mol Arena while extending their winning streak to 18 games. The 18 consecutive wins is tied for the second most in program history along with the 18 games the 2017-18 team won and trails only the 20 straight victories notched by the 1991-92 squad.
 
DeAnn Kauffman scored a game-high 20 points while adding five rebounds, four assists and two blocks while Alexis Hill had 12 points and two assists. Kendall Knapke chipped in 11 points, six rebounds and two assists while Bella Lozano-Dobbs added nine points, five rebounds, five assists and three steals.
 
The Golden Eagles jumped out to a 6-5 lead over the Warriors at the 6:51 mark of the first quarter, but a triple from Lozano-Dobbs started a 13-5 run for Tech as they took a 18-11 lead with 3:31 to go in the period. Kauffman would add a pair of buckets in the final two and a half minutes to finish the quarter with 14 points while the Orange and Black ended the first leading 24-18.
 
A triple from Knapke led to a 9-0 run from Tech to start the second quarter while the Warriors held the hosts scoreless for the first 5:23 of the period to cap a 6:29 drought for Cornerstone. Tech closed out the half on an 11-4 spurt while holding Cornerstone to just 2-10 shooting in the period and head into the locker room leading 46-24.
 
The Warriors continued to hold the gas down on the defensive end in the third quarter as they limited the Golden Eagles to just eight points on 3-14 shooting in the period while putting 20 points on the scoreboard in the opening 10 minutes of the second half. Both sides would have their best offensive performance of the day in the fourth quarter though, with Tech scoring 31 points and Cornerstone notching 20, while the visitors recorded their second-highest scoring game of the season in the blowout.
 
Tech (19-1, 11-0 WHAC) returns to action on Wednesday, January 16 as they travel to Ann Arbor, Michigan to take on Concordia University for another conference battle. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m. from Concordia Gymnasium.
