Box Score KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Indiana Tech men's ice hockey team fell to ACHA Division I No. 25-ranked Western Michigan, in an exhibition, in the final game of the I-69 Cup, falling 1-0 inside Wings West Arena.
"We battled through some injuries and some adversity this weekend," head coach
Frank DiCristofaro said. "We carried the play most of the game and outshot them 48-30. Their goaltender played great. Sometimes you have to tip your hat to a performance like that. Overall, this weekend is going to prepare us for the tournament at the end of the year and that's how we'll look at it."
The lone goal of the game came in the second period at the 8:41 mark from the Stallions' Levi Rowan, the only shot to get past
Bryson Linenburg, who finished the game with 29 saves.
Tech (17-5-0) returns to action on Friday, February 1 as they host Waldorf University in a two-game set. Puck drop is set for 7:30 p.m. from the SportONE/Parkview Ice House.
