SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – The Indiana Tech men's ice hockey team concluded its weekend set with Lawrence Tech, 5-1, in nonconference action Saturday at the Southfield Ice Arena to win their 12
th straight game.
"I thought we battled through a lot of adversity tonight and we were able to pull a full 60 minutes together," head coach
Frank DiCristofaro said. "
Ryan O'Toole was fantastic tonight, especially stopping a penalty shot at a key time in the second period."
The Warriors got out to a 2-0 lead in the first period thanks to goals from
Ryan Attwood and
Adam Jonak. After a short-handed goal from the Blue Devils at the 2:23 mark in the second,
Alex Gregorich restored the two-goal lead with less than four minutes to play in the period.
Attwood and Gregorich would both tally goals in the third period to complete the weekend sweep while O'Toole made 30 saves in net to pick up the win.
Tech (17-4-0) concludes a busy weekend Sunday as they travel to Western Michigan for the second game of the I-69 Cup. Puck drop is set for 6 p.m. from Wings West Arena.
